Line of Life
Oil on Canvas

You stand between eternities. The deep pools of time before your born, and after you die, encapsulate you, or are encapsulated by you.
Line of Life was my attempt at allowing a specific life to look back at itself—to look at the extent and duration of its life all at once. Standing up close, the line of life shimmers, feeling infinite in breadth, but incredibly short in duration. Or its inverse, depending on how a viewer decides to interpret the artwork directionally. Deep blackness surrounds the line, but this blackness is not empty, it is full of subtle variations. The void is the mother of creation. At the edge of this blackness, and at the edge of vision, life is glowing. May it be your life or all life, extend forever or really be this thin, it is there and it exists. Celebrate.
